Southern Hills Crew, Day 3: Let’s Get Down To Business

Mr Beacham generously let us wake up at 7am today, we had an amazing breakfast of cinnamon buns, omelettes, and  mangoes. We again preceded to Boracay Island Global Academy (BIG A) where we immediately started prepping the stage and blinds for painting and varnishing respectively. We only had two hours to complete the first coat of the stage we got there well within time but there was plenty of other jobs to be done. Washing all the paint supplies was long and messy but we finished to be rewarded with pizza.

We made our way to the MASA Ati School where we tutored the kids in English and Math, overcoming language barriers to see improvements in their communication with us was gratifying and we are blessed to have been given this opportunity to influence their lives. We then went to a nearby community to entertain the children and do a feeding program, us three are definitely not destined for an entertainment career.

We headed back to Boracay and went out to dinner, some weren’t paying attention while walking and went a little further than necessary. The food itself was amazing or as they say in the Philippines “Mas Masarap”. Afterwards some of us opted to return to the Villa while the others headed off on an adventure to indulge in a Jonah’s Fruit-shake. We returned on several Trikes, which was an exhilarating experience. We arrived home safe and avoiding the rain.

Bye for now; Breeanna M, Ben Y and Daniel Y

P.S. We are enjoying our first adventure of many together and we miss you all.
