An amazing day of collaboration across SCEA schools – as a teacher from Kalamunda Christian taught students from Ellenbrook, Southern Hills and Swan about sign language and working special needs students in readiness for Leavers2Leaders 2019.
Students who have elected to take part in this trip from November 16-27 learnt the skills required to work with special needs from KCS Deputy Principal Tabatha Grubb, who took them through signing, speaking and gestures.
Complete with food from a local Filipino restaurant, the students learnt cultural etiquette, biblical service models and even balloon-tying techniques in preparation for the trip than celebrates ten years of service in the Filipino communities.
The day concluded with a selfie – which is part of every celebration in the Philippines!
Many local bible studies, alumni of our SCEA schools and churches and local politicians have contributed to Leavers2Leaders over the last ten years, which will celebrate the anniversary with a quiz night on Saturday September 7th at Southern Hills (86 Admiral Road, Bedfordale).
Please keep these young people in your prayers as we lead up to Friday November 15th.
